Comtesse de Cherisey – Blagny 1er Cru La Genelotte Rouge
In stock
Landlocked on a sea of Chardonnay, this very old vineyard of pinot noir, pruned using the Cordons de Royat method since 1929, thrives on clay-limestone soil, typical of the climat of Genelotte.
Agronomic yields are marginal, but the wines obtained are surprisingly fresh. Several years of cellaring are necessary.
The wines are characterised by aromas of red fruits, with which spicy notes intimately mingle, and are deep and subtle.
Intensely perfumed with violets, roses, plums, and exotic spices, la Genelotte has the grace, finesse, and precision of a dancer—a famous ballerina in the role of the Sugar Plum Fairy from Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker Suite comes to mind.
Serving temperature: 12 to 15°C.
