Jules Desjourneys – Fleurie Chapelle des Bois
Colour: Slightly cloudy, medium-deep cherry colour, with flashes of violet.
Bouquet: generous nose of dark fruits, talcum powder, black pepper, violets and anise. More black pepper on the palate, mixed fruits (especially plum), and a slight animal note.
Palate: Perfect balance, silky and elegant, yet lively and juicy, with just the right blend of tannins, acidity and tame alcohol to give a pleasing vinous quality. A serious gamay, almost sombre, but irresistible.
Goes well with meats such as veal, lamb or cold cuts. Combines well with dishes with red fruits flavors. Due to its fruit notes, this wine also pairs well with desserts.
Serving temperature: 14 to 16 °C.
