Domaine Didier Fornerol
In 1987 Didier Fornerol learnt the winemaker's work with his father, then continued his apprenticeship as “Head of the Viticulture” of the famous Domaine de l’Arlot. He became the owner of the Domain Didier Fornerol in 1996.
Today, thanks to his know-how, Didier Fornerol performs all vine works with passion: cutting, growing, trellising, harvesting and treatments. Didier controls operations from winemaking to bottling to which he takes great care to make you appreciate his wines for his greatest pride.
Because he's a rigorous and a demanding man, Didier can perpetuate the Burgundy wine's quality tradition.
The domain occupies 6 hectares and 50 acres of vineyards located in the Corgoloin village, with a variety of Red and White Côtes de Nuits -Villages, Hautes Côtes de Nuits, Red and White Burgundy, Bourgogne Aligoté and Bourgogne Passetoutgrain. Since 2011, the Domain also offers a sparkling wine.
His vines, ideally located mid-slope in the extension of Premier Cru “Clos de la Marechale”, produce amazing value for money wines as they have the character of Nuits-Saint-Georges and the finesse of Chambolle-Musigny.
The vineyard management is rational control (minimal use of treatment) and a short pruning on young vines is done to limit the performance.
The harvest time is a moment of friendship and conviviality. The same people are present from year to year. During one week, they work closely together in joy, and forget back pain and rain.
